Rice Husk Pellet Prices – Winter-Spring Crop 2026 Update (February 26, 2026)
Rice Market Remains Weak, Rice Husk Supply Still Limited
As of February 26, 2026, rice purchasing and export activities across the Mekong Delta remain sluggish, with no significant signs of recovery. Many rice mills have not yet resumed full production capacity, resulting in a limited supply of rice husks—the primary raw material for biomass rice husk pellets. Consequently, the supply shortage continues to have a direct impact on market prices.
Current Rice Husk Pellet Prices in the Mekong Delta
Key production areas include: Dong Thap, Can Tho, Long An
Current factory prices: VND 2,550 – 2,800/kg(Prices vary depending on pellet quality, including mechanical durability, moisture content, ash content, fines ratio, and other specifications.) These prices reflect the limited availability of raw materials during the early stage of the Winter–Spring harvest.
Market Outlook for March 2026
As raw material supply is expected to improve from the second week of March, rice husk pellet prices are projected to ease and stabilize.
Expected factory price range: VND 1,900 – 2,500/kg
However, the long-term market trend indicates that rice husk pellet prices are likely to continue rising due to:
- Increasing production costs
- Growing demand for biomass fuel
- Net Zero commitments and stricter environmental requirements from FDI manufacturers
